December 1, 2015
Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill has commended the Member of Parliament for Dei and Mul Baiyer Lumusa Districts for delivering tangible services to the people.
The Prime Minister when officially launched the Kotna Lapramp road sealing at Kitip Secondary in Dei last Thursday thanked the people of Dei and Mul Baiyer Lumusa for electing the two leaders who had vision and determination to change the districts.
Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill said during the formation of hid government, he had offered Koi and Nukundi ministerial portfolio but they have turned down the offer and told him that they want to be ordinary MP to serve their people.
“Now I see the reason why Mr Koi and Nukundi did not take the offer to be Ministers in the government. I thank you Nukundi and Trape for your decision on not to take the ministerial posts when we offer during the formation of the government and turned down to be an ordinary MP to bring in developments to serve your people,” he said.
Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill said by witnessing the developments in the districts, he knows the reasons the two first time MPs rejects the offer to be ministers.
“Our government have given the money to the districts and the two MPs with their vest experience in leadership, determination and dedication to serve you, they have turned down the ministerial portfolio,” he said.
Prime Minister Hon. Peter O’Neill said most MPs when they are elected, their aim is to take up ministerial portfolio and forget to serve the very people who voted for them.
He said if the two MPs take the offer and join the National Executive Council, he believe the people of Dei and Mul Baiyer Lumusa would missed out on impact projects like now the people see before their eyes.
“Many MPs when elected by the people, they forget the people and fight to take a ministerial position but the two leaders were different. They have taken a tough decision to serve as an MP and not as Minister. I as the Prime Minister of the current government I commended their leadership the presence of their voters.
“You elect leaders to bring in serves to the district and not to be a minister that’s why you can see you districts are changing in terms of development because your leaders have made a right decision. Now you can see many development projects in your district because your leaders are focused and with determination they bring such services into your doorstep.
